30 January - 15 February 2009
The world's biggest Winter Carnival is back in 2009 in Quebec. It has a multitude of events for all the family
to enjoy; fall under the spell of the Quebecer's warm welcome and have some winter fun.

The whole of Brazil shuts down for the 4 days (and nights!)
of this carnival, thead to the streets of Rio for dancing and singing in the streets in an
explosion of colour and amazing costmes.

Up to 700,000 revellers join the Irish to celebrate their Patron Saint's Day. Take a city break
to Dublin and join in the huge five day festival
along with all manner of perfomers, funfairs, floats and parades.

Amsterdam Queen's Day, has over a million
people taking to the streets to celebrate the Queen's birthday with dancing, parades and street
theatre. The street party is internationally-renowned and full of family entertainment.

A once in a lifetime event the Monaco Grand Prix takes over this historic and wealthy
prinicipality. The prestige highlight of the Formula 1 season makes the perfect excuse for a
city break to Monte Carlo.

Held in Milan, Rome and Naples
throughout the summer, music fans could get a real earful at Cornetto's Free Music Festivals,
Italy. Previous years have seen acts like Black Eyed Peas,
Duran Duran and Jamiroquai perform.

6 - 14 July 2008
One of the most famous and trecherous festivals this event incorporates the terrifying with the
exhilerating. The Fiesta de San Fermin is 9 days of Spanish tradition you should not miss if on
a holiday to San Fermin in July.
August

27 August 2008
La Tomatina has grown into he world's biggest food fight, around 20,000 people fling over-ripe
tomatoes. The "battle" starts on the day of the town's patron saint and is the
culmination of a week's festivities.

As the distinct party capital of Europe, Ibiza's clubbing season is defined and
short. Very few leave the party before sunrise and it comes as no surprise that the parties
that open and close the period are huge affairs.

long spectacle. The Thanksgiving tradition is a true New York experience and magical for both

of the largest and most enchanting are in the historical towns. Frankfurt has over 200 stalls while Cologne has
several different markets each with its own character.
