THOMAS COOK RETURNS TO AIRPORT FOREIGN EXCHANGE: Holiday money now available at Manchester Airport
Thomas Cook today returned to airport foreign exchange, with a brand new contract to operate holiday money counters at Manchester Airport.
Thomas Cook is operating a number of foreign exchange bureaux in Manchester Airport, creating up to 20 jobs at the May 1 launch with more to follow later in the summer. The bureaux are some of the busiest in Thomas Cook's network, operating up to 18 hours a day, 365 days a year.
The new contract, and others that the company is currently targeting, means that the Thomas Cook brand will be present at every stage of the customer's journey. People can now book their holiday in a Thomas Cook store, or through a call centre or online, fly with Thomas Cook Airlines and arrive in resort to be met by the Thomas Cook team - and once again buy holiday money from the company within the airport terminal itself.
Thomas Cook has a particularly strong presence in the Manchester area - with Thomas Cook Airlines head office also at the airport, and more than 100 stores in the local area arranging holiday flights out of Manchester Airport. Thomas Cook is also the sponsor of Manchester City Football Club.
Melanie Whitehouse, Director of Foreign Exchange at Thomas Cook, said: "UK airports serve millions of passengers per year. As Thomas Cook grows its presence in airports, people will have access to excellent rates, exceptional customer service and expert advice from each Thomas Cook foreign exchange bureau. Thomas Cook is the best-known name in travel and foreign exchange. We are very excited to once again be able to offer our foreign exchange services to airport customers as part of their overall holiday experience."
Andrew Harrison, Commercial Director at Manchester Airport, said: "Thomas Cook is a much-loved name in travel and has a good understanding of on-airport business. We were impressed by the company's commitment to customer service and value. We have strict quality standards in place to ensure that customers have the best possible experience in Manchester Airport, and Thomas Cook wholeheartedly demonstrated that it shares our vision."
