The currency in Koh Samui is the Thai Baht (THB). 

In Koh Samui, you'll be spending Thai Baht (THB). The baht is split into 100 satang, and you'll find coins in 1, 2, 5, and 10 baht, plus the 25 and 50 satang coins (worth about a penny each).

The banknotes are colourful: 20 baht (green), 50 baht (blue), 100 baht (red), 500 baht (purple), and 1,000 baht (brown). Each note features King Rama IX on the front, with images of former kings, animals, and landmarks on the back.

While many places in Koh Samui accept major credit cards like Visa and MasterCard, it’s handy to carry cash for tipping, taxis, restaurants, and markets.

ATMs are everywhere on the island, but check your bank for any fees and withdrawal limits. You can also exchange money at travel kiosks at the airport, though you might get better rates by ordering currency ahead of your trip.
