Sardinia is a large island in the Mediterranean Sea. The island is home to some of the most stunning beaches in Europe with a rugged, mountainous landscape and the beautiful La Maddalena Islands Archipelago National Park. The island enjoys a warm and sunny climate thanks to its location in the Mediterranean. The best time to go to Sardinia is during the summer when temperatures are high and there are at least 14 hours of sunlight per day. The average temperature high is 28°C, which is very pleasant without being too hot. The Mediterranean Sea is usually quite mild at around 23°C, which is ideal for a relaxing swim. If you want to snorkel or try some scuba diving on holiday, you won’t be disappointed. Water sports are very popular on the island and are always available on the island’s beaches. Rainfall is usually quite light in the summer with heavier showers towards autumn and winter. The south of the island tends to be slightly drier than the north. The best time to go to Sardinia for less rainfall is in the summer, which has a warmer and drier climate. Winds coming in from the Arctic are common all over the island, helping to control humidity levels that can be quite high in the southeast. The foot of the mountains is very warm and dry, thanks to the provided shelter from rainfall and strong winds.
